PPP’s CEC to meet in Larkana today

The Central Executive Committee of Pakistan People’s Party will meet on Sunday (today) at Naudero House near Larkana where chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari will preside over the on the death anniversary of late Benazir Bhutto.
The CEC is likely to decide the next president of PPP-parliamentarians, a position that fell vacant after the demise of party stalwart Makhdoom Amin fahim in November this year.
Other issues likely to come up during the meeting include the changes proposed in senior positions of the party’s provincial chapters in Sindh and Punjab and the long-awaited reorganization till the grassroots level.
The meeting will also mull over abolishing the post of PPP co-chairman.
Moreover, a few PPP leaders from Punjab who had jumped ship to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf are also likely to rejoin the party on the occasion of its CEC meeting.
A potential addition into the PPP CEC is of Jameel Soomro, whose name has been nominated by chairman Bilawal himself, though he has also been facilitated on the occasion by Senator Saeed Ghani and Lateef Mughal, among other leaders.
