Upgraded solid waste management system

JHANG: The tehsil municipal administration (TMA) has launched an upgraded solid waste management system, said District Coordination Officer Nadir Chattha.
Talking to newsmen here on Saturday, he said that the project was completed at a cost of Rs 250 million. He said that the upgraded system had started functioning to get rid of 166MT solid waste produced daily in the city.
After rehabilitation from the Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC), the first batch of required machinery and equipments, including 10 arm rolls of 10 cubic meter capacity, 10 arm rolls of five cubic meter capacity, 75 containers of 10 cubic meter capacity and 75 containers of five cubic meter capacity had been received by the TMA while the remaining would be received by the middle of January 2016. TMA Administrator Babar Rehman, AC Imran Asmat and others were also present on the occasion.
