Function for police, APS martyrs

JHANG: The police arranged a function in the Police Lines to pay tributes to the martyrs of the Peshawar Army Public School and Punjab police here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, District Police Officer Humayun Masood said that the Punjab government had announced a special package for the martyred officials’ families. According to the package, widows and families of martyred officials would be paid full salaries with allowances, besides education and employment arrangements for their children, he added. He paid tributes to the APS martyrs.
During the function, while getting cash some widows of martyred policemen informed the DPO that the police department officials were not paying attentions to their problems and they (widows) were wandering to get job for their sons.
To it, the DPO said that police authorities had planned to minimise financial problems of widows and families of the martyred police officials on permanent basis.
Meanwhile, talking to newsmen, the DPO said that security of Rafique Airbase, Shorkot, and surrounding localities had been further beefed up due to the terror threat. The DPO said that educational institutions were also under threats and with the coordination of the Education Department, their security had also been beefed up.
