National song competitions held to
pay tributes to APS martyrs

FAISALABAD: Under the aegis of the district administration, different events were held in connection with the Peshawar APS Martyrs Week here on Sunday.
Quran Khawani was held at the Social Welfare Department’s Darul Aman, Ghulam Muhammadabad. Speaking on the occasion, the speakers said that they would not forget the great sacrifices of students and teachers, who laid down their lives for the sake of the homeland. Meanwhile, competitions of national songs were held at the Government College for Women, Karkhana Bazaar, and the Municipal Degree College, Jaranwala Road.
The boys and girls students participated in the competitions. MPA Faqir Hussain Dogar and Director Colleges Rana Munawar Khan were the chief guests. The speakers appreciated the voice of students with regard to patriotism, national solidarity and commitment against the menace of terrorism. They said that the Punjab government had taken appreciable steps for observing the martyrs week. They said that every student was soldier of the country. Later, prizes were distributed among the position holders of national song competitions.
Meanwhile, a stage play titled “Pehray Dar” was arranged by the Faisalabad Arts Council in a local theater. MPA Haji Ilyas Ansari was the chief guest on the occasion. The artists performed the acts, depicting the nefarious designs of the terrorists and the resolve of the nation against them. MPA Haji Ilyas Ansari appreciated the performance of the artists and said that it was a very impressive way to pay tributes to the martyrs of the country.
NANKANA SAHIB: A ceremony was held to pay tributes to the Peshawar Army Public School martyrs at the Officers Club here on Sunday.
A troop of police, Rescue 1122 and scouts presented salute to the martyrs. The speakers said that terrorism would be rooted out from the country. DPO Shahzada Sultan, DO Rescue 1122 Muhammad Akram, DO Civil Defence Mubashir Rabbani and others were also present on the occasion.
TOBA TEK SINGH: A function was held in connection with the APS Martyrs Week at the Police Lines here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, DCO Amir Ijaz Akbar, DPO Rana Shahzad Akbar and PML-N MPAs Mian Muhammad Rafiq and Ch Amjad Ali Javed paid tributes to the martyrs, especially those martyred in the Peshawar Army Public School terrorists attack on December 16, 2014.
ADC Zeeshan Shabbir Rana, DSPs Azhar Yaqoob, Mehmood Haroon and Aftab Cheema, DBA president Asghar Ch and press club president Manzoor Naz were also present on the occasion.
