PTI govt should give quick relief to masses before Ramazan: Siraj
LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq demanded the PTI government and provincial governments for taking adequate measures for providing immediate relief to the masses ahead of Ramazan.
According to JI spokesperson, he was addressing Istehkam-e-Pakistan Convention Wednesday. He said the government should act now to help the masses badly hit by inflation and unemployment caused by coronavirus, and ensure availability of basic food items at half of the current prices in the holy month.
He said the people had lost the buying power due to unemployment and poverty which was the result of government’s flawed economic policies. He said although the past rulers were also equally responsible for the deterioration in economy and other sectors, the PTI government proved more incapable. He said the government had lost the trust of people even before completion of half of its tenure and they wanted to get rid of the incumbent setup.
He said the government should avoid making full surrender before the IMF and stop its proposed privatisation policy which was not a solution to miseries of the people. He said the privatisation would bring more unemployment and restlessness in government sector which was already weak.
He indicated that infrastructure, health and education sectors especially in KP were deteriorating with each passing day due to incapable provincial government over the last eight years. He said thousands of KP youth lost their jobs and the province was hit by poverty and inflation. Siraj appealed to the masses to use the platform of Jamaat-e-Islami for getting rid of the corrupt system.
