PHC DI Khan bench reinstates sacked Gomal varsity staffers
PESHAWAR: All the sacked staffers of the Gomal University, Dera Ismail Khan who were removed from service by the previous vice-chancellor citing different reasons were reinstated by the regional bench of the Peshawar High Court on Monday.
The terminated staffers, mostly faculty members, had filed a petition in the Dera Ismail Khan bench of the Peshawar High Court challenging the grounds of their termination and pleading for reinstatement.
They were sacked by Dr Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar, the previous vice-chancellor, when Dil Nawaz was the director administration. Sarwar later completed his tenure and was replaced by Dr Iftikhar Ahmad while Dil Nawaz lost his job, but the sacked employees of the university continued to fight legal battle to get reinstated. The court gave its verdict on Monday by declaring the sacking of the staffers illegal and reinstating all of them.
