LHC suspends order against Babar Azam
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Monday suspended a sessions court’s order that directed the cybercrime wing of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to lodge a case against Pakistan captain Babar Azam on the complaint of a woman.
The court sought a reply from the agency’s wing within two weeks and also issued a notice to the complainant.Azam and other nominated accused in the complaint had challenged the lower court’s decision pleading that the order had been passed against the law. They asked the high court to set aside the order.
Hamiza Mukhtar, the complainant, accused Azam and others of hurling life threats in whatsapp messages through different mobile numbers.The woman said she had been facing continuous blackmailing that the suspects would upload her fake pictures on social media if she did not accept their demands.
The woman accused Azam of deceitfully maintaining sexual relations and making false promises of marriage. She also alleged that she got pregnant in 2015 with a baby of Azam but he got it aborted.
