Muzammil stuns Usman in tennis tourney to enter quarters

KARACHI: Mohammad Muzammil of Jehanian pulled an impressive upset when he eliminated sixth seed Usman Rafiq from title race in men’s singles event of 1st Serena Hotels Open Tennis Championships 2015 at Syed Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex in Islamabad on Tuesday.
Muzamil recorded a 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 victory against Usman to secure an unexpected place in the quarter-finals of the tournament.
Meanwhile, all other seeded players — Aqeel Khan, Ahmed Chaudhry, Yasir Khan, Heera Ashiq, Mohammad Muddasir and Shahzad Khan cruised into men’s singles quarter-finals after beating their respective opponents in straight sets.
