Three dacoits killed in Kasur, Toba encounters

KASUR: Two dacoits were killed in an encounter with police here on Monday.
The Ganda Singhwala SHO was patrolling an area when he signalled six suspects on two motorcycles near Sandha Phatak. Instead of stopping their motorcycles, the suspects opened fire on police and fled away. To it, the SHO alerted all the police stations and they started searching the suspects.
A police party, including A-Division SHO Malik Tariq, B-Division SHO Kafayat Ali and the Sadr DSP, came across the suspects near a level crossing in B-Division police limits.
Seeing police, the criminals opened fire on them. Police also retaliated. As a result, two suspects were injured while their accomplices fled.
Police recovered a Kalashnikov and a pistol from the injured suspects. The injured suspects died on way to a hospital. The killed suspects were later identified as dacoits Amjad Ali alias Amjadi and Muhammad Irfan Dogar of Kasur.
According to DPO Ali Nasir Rizvi, the killed dacoits were wanted by Kasur district police in 10 cases of robbery, dacoity and murder.

Four dacoits, including Khurshid Kali of Chak 68/JB, were robbing people of cash and valuables on Dijkot Road near Chak 98/JB, Kohli. On information, Nishatabad police post in-charge Ashraf Bhutta along with a police party reached the spot. Seeing police, the dacoits opened fire on police, which was retaliated. In the meantime, a Gojra city police party led by SHO Naeem Adil and DSP Atif Imran Qureshi also reached the spot and took part in the encounter. As a result, Khurshid was killed on the spot while his accomplices escaped. The gang had looted two buses in the same area about two weeks ago. Meanwhile, DPO Rana Shahzad Akbar lauded the policemen, who killed the dacoit in an encounter.
