Multan crowned disabled Twenty20 champions

KARACHI: Multan were crowned champions when they overwhelmed Karachi by eight wickets in the final of ICRC National Disabled T20 Cricket Championship 2015 here at National Stadium on Saturday.
Batting first, Karachi posted 112-8 in 20 overs. Rao Javed scored 33-ball 33 not out with one four. Waheed Khan (26) and Haroon Rasheed (18) were the other main contributors.
Left-arm medium pacer Zubair Salim picked 4-24. Spinner Mohammad Asif got 2-12.
Multan achieved the target in 16.2 overs at the loss of only two wickets. Matloob Qureshi struck fine 48-ball 57 with four fours. Majid Hussain belted 41-ball 46 with six fours. Spinner Nouman Shabbir picked 2-16.
Zubair Salim of Multan was adjudged man-of-the-match.
Former Test cricketer and adviser to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Salahuddin Sallu gave away trophies to the leading teams. The deputy head delegate ICRC Jerome Alexander and president Pakistan Disabled Cricket Association (PDCA) Saleem Karim were also present.
The winners were handed over a purse of Rs2,00000 and trophy, while the runner-ups received Rs100,000. Cash prizes were also handed over to the leading players for their superb individual performances.
