PTI demo against change in election result
From Our Correspondent
HAFIZABAD: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf activists staged a demonstration in front of the DCO office to register their protest against the alleged fake victory of Ch Afzal Tarar as chairman Union Council No 8, Kolo Tarar.
Led by former MNA Ch Mehdi Bhatti and PTI former district president Amanullah Sandhu, the PTI activists raised slogans against the DCO, Returning Officer Allah Ditta Warraich and Afzal Tarar for changing the November-19 local government election result in which Mamoon Jafar Tarar was declared elected as UC-8 chairman. They alleged that the RO made bogus recounting by rejecting votes of the winning PTI candidate.
Speaking on the occasion, Mehdi Bahtti and Amanullah Sandhu alleged that the RO and the local administration manoeuvred fake victory of Ch Afzal Tarar as UC-8 chairman. They vowed to continue besieging offices of the DCO and the RO. They have demanded the Election Commission of Pakistan probe the matter, take action against the returning officer and withhold/cancel notification of the Ch Afzal Tarar’s victory.
