Five killed in Chitral accident

CHITRAL: Five persons were killed and a woman was injured when a jeep plunged into river near Chew Bridge here on Wednesday.
The vehicle (PS-588) was carrying 10 passengers to Chitral town from Garam Chashma when it fell into the river after the driver, Mutahib Shah, lost control while negotiating a turn.
Those killed were identified as Bannat Bibi, resident of Upper Dir, Haibat Khan, resident of Lotkoh, Abdul Hannan, resident of Awi Shoghore, and three-year-old Sumaya, resident of Upper Dir, Afzal and Amir Hamza.
Four persons were stated to be still missing and efforts were being made for their recovery. The injured woman told the journalists at the hospital that over 10 people were travelling in the vehicle.
Meanwhile, District Police Officer told The News that following the incident, the police reached the spot and launched the rescue work.
