Chitral is the second-largest district of our country, with a population of about 750,000. Unfortunately, the people of Chitral are facing several problems, of which the most major is electricity outages.
There are many suitable sites for hydropower projects in Chitral. According to a survey by the Aga Khan Rural Support Programme, approximately 22,000MW of electricity can be generated here. Such production can diminish the discrepancy between the supply and demand of electricity in Chitral as well as the entire country.
