CTD arrests three militants in Kohat

KOHAT: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested three militants and seized explosives from them here on Saturday, an official said. Talking to The News, Superintendent of Police CTD Ihsanullah Khan said that acting on a tip-off their personnel barricaded the Indus Highway at Jarma and pulled over a car coming from Miranshah, headquarters of North Waziristan Agency.
He said three militants identified as Farid, Ali and Imran, all belonging to Khyber Agency, were arrested and 20 kilogram explosives, prima cord, mobile phone receivers and electric devices were seized from their possession. He said the militants were coming to Kohat from North Waziristan possibly to carry out a terrorist, but they were arrested before acting on their plan. “The officials of the intelligence agency and law-enforcement organization are conducting raids at the suspected places for the arrest of the local accomplices of the detained militants,” the official said.
He added that the detained militants were involved in terror activities, bombings and attacks on the police and security forces.
