Rape-cum-murder of BSc student
CM takes notice, seeks report from IGP

OKARA: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of the rape and murder of a BSc student and sought a report from the IGP.
Shazia, 20, a student of the AIOU, was on way home after taking examination when she was kidnapped and raped by some unidentified people about three days ago. Later, the accused strangled her and threw her body in a drain. After recovery of the body, her family along with villagers staged a demonstration and blocked Okara-Faisalabad Road to register their protest.
Two of a family killed in accident

OKARA: Two people were killed and a woman was injured in an accident on Pakpattan-Depalpur Road near Sukhpur on Friday.
Muhammad Imran, his wife and relative Abdul Jabbar were going to Lahore from Pakpattan when their car struck against a tree while trying to avoid a motorcyclist. As a result, Imran and his relative Abdul Jabbar were killed on the spot while Imran’s wife was injured. She was shifted to a hospital.
PPP FUNCTION: The Pakistan People’s Party organised a function in connection with the party’s 48th foundation day here. The function was organised by PPP leader Rao Yasir Iqbal while PPP district president Ch Sajjadul Hassan was the chief guest. The PPP founder members, including Najmus Saqib, Izharul Haq Toor, Muhammad Ashraf Sanguka, Muhammad Farooq Sanguka, Asif Baloch and Shahid Saleem, addressed the workers and pledged to rejuvenate the party. More than 200 party workers attended the function.
