Three of a family found murdered in house
From Our Correspondent
JHANG: Three members of a family were found murdered in their house at Mukhiana village on Thursday.
According to Sadr police, a relative of labourer Nazir Ahmad, 60, came to his house to meet him but he did not open the door. To it, he informed police, who reached the spot and found Nazir, his wife Salamat Bibi, 50, and their son Muhammad Boota, 30, dead. Police said that the family members were axed to death when they were asleep. Police have shifted the bodies to the DHQ Hospital for autopsy and started investigation. Meanwhile, talking to newsmen, the SHO said that apparently the incident did not seem to be a dacoity and family rivalry because of the poor condition of the deceased. He said that Nazir Ahmad was a retired watchman of the Government Veterinary Hospital.
WOMEN EMPOWERMENT POLICY: Following the women empowerment policy, the Punjab government has authorised the school heads for sanctioning causal and maternity leave of female teachers of government schools.
The sources said that the school headmistresses had been authorised to approve causal and maternity leave of female teachers instead of sending them to the DEO and EDO offices but the same information had not been communicated to them in the district. Consequently, the teachers could be seen visiting the DDEOs, DEO (Women) and EDO offices for approval of their causal and maternity leaves as per previous process of the leave approval, the sources added.
When contacted, the Girls Elementary School head said that they did not know about their authority of sanctioning leaves. Education Executive District Officer Nasim Ahmad Zahid confirmed that the causal and maternity leave sanctioning authority had been entrusted to the female heads of schools. He said that the DEO (Women) would be summoned for not passing on the information to the school heads.
