Three alleged robbers shot dead in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR: Three alleged dacoits were killed on Saturday night. At McLeod Gunj near Muhammadpur Maawan in Bahawalnagar district, two gangsters were shot dead by their accomplices. They were identified as Ijaz alias Boota, a resident of Shehr Fareed, and Muhammad Boota alias Booti Dacoit, a resident of Sahiwal district. According to the police, both had been arrested in a dacoity case and were being taken for recovery. Their six armed accomplices got them released after firing on the police van and also took away arms. The police chased them but they were shot dead by their accomplices. According to the police, they were wanted in more than 20 cases of robberies and murders in many districts in Punjab. An unidentified gangster was shot dead by his accomplices near Fareed Shah Morr in Liaqatpur police limits in Rahimyar Khan. Reportedly, four gangsters attempted to steal a motorbike from Amjad. On resistance, they fired at him but a bullet hit one of the dacoits, who died on the way to hospital.
