BAHAWALPUR: Baghdadul Jadeed police booked PML-N candidates for Union Council No-9 chairman and vice chairman slots and about 90 supporters for blocking a road during a rally on Saturday night.
The candidates, Malik Muhammad Akram and Malik Abid Channar, along with their supporters took out a motorcycle rally and blocked a road. They also violated the ban of use of loudspeaker. According to SHO, Shahbaz Ahmad, the sound system operator, has been arrested and raids are being conducted to arrest the other accused.

BAHAWALPUR: Justice Zafarullah Khan Khakwani of the LHC Bahawalpur Bench reserved the judgment in a petition, challenging candidature of an independent candidate for UC chairman slot.
In a petition, Malik Jafar challenged the candidature of his sister Sumaira Malik as the UC chairman, saying that she could not contest the polls as her vice-chairman candidate had withdrawn his papers. It is expected that the LHC judge would announce the verdict today.
