KARACHI: NBP’s Murad Ali will face Irfan Saeed of WAPDA in the final of men’s singles event in All Pakistan Ranking Badminton Tournament.
In their semi-final matches at New Khan Badminton Hall in Lahore on Sunday, Murad elbowed out SNGPL’s Abdur Rehman, recording a 21/13, 21/11 victory.
Irfan defeated teammate Awais Zahid 21/08, 19/21, 21/18.
Mahoor Shahzad and Khizra Rasheed of WAPDA will fight for the women’s singles title.
Khizra beat teammate Saima Waqas 20/22, 21/11, 21/15.
Mahoor dispatched Sara Mohmand of NBP in the other semi-final. Mahoor was leading the match by 21/04 score when Sara retired from the match.
The women’s doubles semi-finals were all-WAPDA affairs. Saima Waqas and Farzana Ali from WAPDA defeated Sehar Akram and Sadia Arshad 21/10, 21/05. Sidra Hameed and Khizra Rasheed defeated Mahoor Shahzad and Ghazala 21/11, 21/14.
