KARACHI: Sabih Wali overpowered Ahmed Iltifat, recording a convincing 6-1, 6-1 triumph, in the first round of 60-plus singles in Karachi Club Pakistan ITF Senior World Ranking Tennis Championship at Karachi Club here on Sunday.
Khan Hassan eased into the second round as he got a walkover against Fahim Muhammad Akram.
In a 45-plus singles first round match, Noorullah Dhanani found tough resistance from Amin Adnan but eventually prevailed and recorded a 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) triumph.
In 35-plus singles first round, Nigerian Amodu Abiola overpowered Omair Chawla, recording a 6-2, 6-0 victory. Maniya Salman got a walkover agaist Anis Shoaib.
