HAFIZABAD: A Rangers personnel, who was martyred in Karachi, was laid to rest with full military honours in a graveyard at Lakhia village on Saturday.
A large number of people attended Namaz-e-Janaza of Shaheed Rangers personnel Shahadat Ali Bhatti. He was martyred by the terrorists when he was performing his duty outside a mosque in Karachi on Friday. He has joined the Pakistan Rangers about 10 years ago. His father has died about two years ago. His mother, brothers and sisters said that they are proud of Shahadat Ali.

Former tehsil nazim among 109 PTI workers booked

HAFIZABAD: Kaleke police have registered a case against former tehsil nazim Rai Jehangir Ali Kharal, his brother Rai Riasat Ali Kharal and 107 PTI workers on the charges of injuring PML-N MPA Asadullah Arain, his driver, gunman and others.
The MPA and his supporter had visited a polling station at Geegay on Thursday when the PTI workers led by Rai Jehangir Ali allegedly attacked them with clubs and stones. Police have arrested five accused and are interrogating them.
Meanwhile, City police booked 50 workers of the PML-N and the PTI, including Tariq, Ahtesham, PTI candidate Muhammad Boota and Zafar Ali, on the charges of attacking each other and injuring two persons Nasir and Arslan.
About 31 PML-N workers were booked for blocking a road near Jharianwala. City police have also registered a case against PTI defeated candidate Zohaib and 11 others on the charges of allegedly opening fire on winning candidate Muhammad Asif Chattha of the PML-N and his brother Amjad Pervez Chattha. As a result, four persons were injured. Police have arrested Zaheer Abbas and Adnan and started investigation.
