JHANG: The Punjab Professors and Lecturers Association (PPLA) has warned of boycotting the LG elections duty in the district if the killers of Professor Azhar Sial are not arrested.
Talking to newsmen here on Friday, PPLA district president Mian Khalid Mehmood said that male and female staff of colleges of the district would continue boycott of classes because police had made zero progress in the murder case. He said that their colleague was killed on resistance by the dacoits some days ago.
Meanwhile, students of the Government Postgraduate College took out a rally against the murder of their professor. They bunt tyres and booked traffic at Ayub Chowk. They were demanding immediate arrest of the accused.
On the other hand, Deputy Director Colleges Sharif Khan Baloch said that demands of the PPLA had been communicated to the Punjab government high-ups and the district administration.
