OKARA: Flt-Lt (retd) Chaudhry Muhammad Arshad Iqbal advocate Thursday said the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a blessing for Pakistan.
Talking to reporters, Ch Arshad, former president Okara Chamber of Commerce & Industry (OCCI), said the CPEC would become an economic rendezvous for Afghanistan, Central Asian states, Iran, Turkey, Eastern Europe, France and Great Britain.
He said the CPEC would also provide these countries an access to hot water harbour at Gawadar.
Arshad said it had been a dream of Russia to obtain an approach to hot waters through shortest routes.
He said the Russian attack on Afghanistan was based on the dream of reaching upto hot waters.
He said China’s friendly offer to lay the CPEC across the country was lauded by Pakistani rulers and the nation.
He said the CPEC had another significance as in Balochistan it could be further linked across the Central Asian States and Europe.
GAS STATION OWNER LOOTED: An owner of a gas station was deprived of cash on Thursday.
Four gunmen snatched Rs180,000, from pump owner Zafar Iqbal at Al-Askaria gas station.
