HANGU: The female nurses and technicians of the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ), Hangu on Monday suspended emergency services and boycotted the duty to press for security and other facilities at the hostel.
They also staged a protest in their hostel. They were holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the lack of security and other services at the hostel and favour of their demands.
Talking to reporters, the nurses said that the hospital administration has not provided any security to the hostel.
“The hospital administration has not provided a single security guard for the security of the hostel. The nurses feel insecure and are exposed to any danger which caused serious concern among them,” said a nurse.
They lamented lack of other facilities at the hostel, saying there were no Class-IV employee, sanitation worker and drinking water in the hostel. “We are also not even given hard area allowance,” said another protester.
They also demanded the government to regularise the services of the nurses and technicians appointed on ad hoc basis at the facility.
