BAHAWALPUR: Hundreds of residents of Chak 15 Gajyani and Ward No 29 staged a demonstration by placing the body of Muhammad Sadiq at Chowk Fawara Chishtian, who was allegedly murdered by a newly-elected councillor and his accomplices over political rivalry.
The protesters placed the body of Sadiq, who succumbed to injuries at a hospital on Friday, and chanted slogans against the THQ Hospital Chishtian doctors for not issuing medical certificate as well as against the police for failing to arrest the alleged killers. It is pertinent to mention here that Sadiq was allegedly injured when PML-N MNA Tahir Bashir Cheema group’s newly-elected councillor accused Naeem Shahid and his accomplices allegedly attacked and injured him over election rivalry on Nov 3.
DEMO OF PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES REPRESENTATIVES: Hundreds of representatives of pharmaceutical companies on Friday staged a demonstration against imposition of ban on the entry of pharmaceutical companies’ representatives at the Bahawal Victoria Hospital and Quaid-e-Azam Medical College during the office hours.
The protesters gathered outside the BVH and QMC and blocked the entry gates of the hospital and college. They also blocked traffic on Circular Road for many hours, which caused difficulties for the patients as well as for general public. BVH MS Dr Irshad Ahmad while talking to The News said that the imposition of the ban was a policy matter issued by the Health Department. He said that the BVH administration had invited the protesting medical representatives to listen their point of view and their proposals but the ban would not be lifted as it was not the power of the administration.
3 BROTHERS BOOKED: City Chishtian police on Friday booked three brothers for violating the National Action Plan. They are Ahmad Raza, Ali Raza and Mehr Raza, sons of head of Madrassa Darul Aloom, Eidgah Road.
MAN HELD AFTER EIGHT YEARS: An FIA team of Multan on Friday arrested a man who was wanted for the last eight years in a case. The FIA team arrested Nadeem Rajput from inside Ahmadpuri Gate who was wanted by the German police in a murder case. According to the FIA team, if the record of the detainee verified than he would be handed over to the German officials.
