Man gets death on two-counts for murder

FAISALABAD: Anti-Terrorism Court Special Judge Raja Pervaiz Akhtar on Thursday awarded death on two counts, life imprisonment and Rs 2.1 million fine to Ashraf of Chak 487/GB in a murder case. According to the prosecution, the convict had burnt his sister-in-law Shamim Bibi to death for honour on May 2, 2015.
Newly-married girl burnt alive by husband, in-laws

FAISALABAD: A newly-married girl was burnt alive by her husband and in-laws at Chak 446/GB in Samundri Sadr police limits.
Farzana Kausar was allegedly burnt alive by her husband Muhammad Shafiq, father-in-law Muhammad Rafique and mother-in-law Ruqiyya Bibi. The motive behind the incident is said to be a domestic dispute. The victim was shifted to the Allied Hospital in a critical condition. Police have registered a case and started investigation.
Human trafficker held with 12 passports

FAISALABAD: The FIA arrested a human trafficker and recovered 12 passports from him here on Thursday.
The FIA raided a travel agency office on Jaranwala Road and arrested human smuggler Muhammad Irfan and recovered 12 passports from him. However, his accomplices Haji Yousaf and Ch Muhammad Younis managed to escape. Further investigation is under way.
TWO KILLED ON ROAD: Two people were killed in as many road accidents here.
In the first incident, Muhammad Saeed was killed and his wife Iqra was seriously wounded when a vehicle hit their motorcycle near Bhatta Stop, Millat Town. The injured woman was shifted to the Allied Hospital.
In the second incident, three-year-old Muhammad Saeed was crushed to death by a speeding truck near Bangla Chowk, Chak 497/GB. Police have taken the truck in custody and started investigation.
TWO HELD: Two people were arrested for decanting here.
Jhang Bazaar police arrested Zulfiqar Ahmad of Lassani Chowk while Batala Colony police arrested Shahid Ali of Hilal Road for filling gas cylinders illegally.
