FAISALABAD: The strike of Fesco employees entered 7th day on Wednesday.
The employees staged a sit-in in support of their demands in front of the Fesco Headquarters. They locked all the offices and held a meeting against the company’s privatisation by the federal government. Addressing the meeting, APWHE Workers Union leaders Sarfraz Ahmad and Rana Abdur Rashid pledged that the employees would continue their strike till the acceptance of their just demand. They alleged that the government was trying to sale the profit-earning company at a through-away price to its favourites. “The employees would not allow the government to implement this unwarranted decision,” they maintained.
Meanwhile, the electricity bills for the month of October have not yet been printed and dispatched to consumers due to the week-long strike.
