‘PM’s Kisan Package launched for farmers’ welfare’

KASUR: Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal has said that the government has started the Prime Minister’s Kisan Package for welfare of farmers.
He said this while addressing a function held to distribute cheques among the farmers under the PM’s Kisan Package at the District Council Hall here on Friday. The Punjab Assembly speaker said that 65 per cent people of Pakistan belong to agriculture sector, adding that agriculture sector was 21 per cent of total GDP. He said that Rs 5,000 per acre would be granted to the growers of rice and cotton crops. He said that farmers were the backbone of the country and it was priority of the government to resolve their problems. Later, he distributed cheques among the farmers.
