‘PM’s Kisan Package a revolutionary step for farmers’

FAISALABAD: MPA Khalid Saeed has said that the Prime Minister’s Kisan Package is a revolutionary step for the welfare of farmers.
He said this while addressing a ceremony held to distribute pay orders (POs) worth Rs 79.205 million among the farmers of rice and cotton crops under the Prime Minister’s Kisan Package at district level at Iqbal Stadium here on Friday. The MPA attended the function as the chief guest while Sadar AC Rafia Haider and other officers of Revenue Department also attended the ceremony. The MPA said that under the programme, the farmers of rice and cotton crops were being provided compensation of Rs 5,000 per acre and the farmers having agriculture land upto 2-acre were also getting benefit from the package. He told that POs of Rs 9.2 million had been given to 543 farmers of Tehsil Sadar while POs of Rs 2.1 million had been received by 49 farmers of Tehsil City and POs of Rs 10.5 million had been provided to 540 farmers of Tehsil Jaranwala. He said that there was no such programme started in the history of Pakistan, adding that the PM believes in progress and welfare of the farmers. The MPA said that the Punjab government had started a number of agriculture-friendly programmes for the welfare of farmers. He lauded the efforts of the district administration for conducting comprehensive survey of the farmers in the district and arranging the ceremonies at district and tehsil levels under the package. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister’s Kisan Package launching ceremonies were also held at tehsil level in which various parliamentarians participated as the chief guests.
