KARACHI: Mohammad Farhan scored a brilliant hat-trick to help Lahore Customs Academy record a convincing 5-1 triumph against Ustad Aslam Roda Academy and qualify for the semi-finals of 1st P T Yaqoob Memorial Hockey Tournament on Wednesday at Government College Gojra.
Bilal Qadir and Fahad Qadir were the other scorers for Lahore Customs Academy. Mohammad Usman scored a consolatory goal for Ustad Aslam Roda Academy. Lahore Customs will face WAPDA in the pre-finals on Thursday (today).
In the second match of the day, SSGC overcame Police in penalty strokes by 4-2 after the regulation time ended in a 1-1 draw.
Mohammad Rizwan scored for SSGC in the first half. Rana Atif scored the equaliser in the second half.
In the penalty shootouts, Rizwan, Saleem Khalid, Zeeshan and Tofeeq scored for SSGC, while Shahbaz Junior and Mohammad Ali scored for Police. SSGC will battle with PIA in the summit clash of the tournament.
