KARACHI: WAPDA recorded a convincing 4-0 victory against The Gojra Star in the first PT Yaqoob Memorial Hockey Tournament on Tuesday at Government College, Gojra.
Mohammad Ejaz scored twice, while Mohammad Usman and Mohammad Irfan netted one goal each.
Meanwhile, after a tough battle in regulation time, PIA overpowered Tahir Zaman Academy on penalty strokes by 4-2.
Mohammad Zubair scored in the seventh minute to give PIA a 1-0 lead, which was equalised by Tahir Zaman Academy’s Mohammad Waqar after only four minutes.
However, PIA players proved their mettle as Zubair, Shafqat Rasool, Mohammad Irfan and Inyatullah scored in the decisive phase. For Tahir Zaman Academy, Sheikh Zahid and Mohammad Faizan converted their chances.
