KARACHI: Police recorded a 1-0 triumph against The Gojra Stars, while SSGC overcame WAPDA 4-3 in penalty shootouts in the first PT Yaqoob Memorial Hockey Tournament on Monday at Government College Gojra.
Mohammad Rizwan scored the lone goal of the match on penalty corner to help Police beat Gojra Star.
The match between SSGC and WAPDA ended in a 1-1 draw at the end of regulation time. Mohammad Adeel put SSGC ahead with a goal in the 20th minute. Mohammad Shahbaz levelled the arrears 12 minutes later.
Khalid Saleem, Rizwan, Zeeshan and Adnan Maqsood scored the goals in penalty shootouts. Mohammad Shahbaz, Usman and Ejaz were the successful strikers for WAPDA.
