SWABI: A total of Rs3 million cheques were distributed among the heirs those killed and those injured in the recent earthquake.
The cheques were distributed at a ceremony. Deputy Commissioner Matiullah Khan, Assistant Commissioner Swabi Afsar Ali Shah and others officials of the district administration were present on the occasion.
Compensation cheques distributed in Bisham: The district administration distributed 2,500 tents and 4,000 blankets to the earthquake victims in Shangla district, official said on Monday.
Assistant Commissioner Shangla Taimur Khan Afridi said that compensation cheques were also distributed among the victims of the October 26 earthquake.
He said that Rs600,000 were given to the families of dead while Rs100,000 to injured.The affected families claimed that more than 6,000 houses were damaged or destroyed, saying that 2,500 tents were not sufficient.An official of the security forces said that the damage assessment survey was in the district was in progress.
