Lahore General Hospital would extend specialist doctors cover by Neurosurgery Department and Dermatology Department every Monday to Distract Headquarters Hospital Kasur. Telecommunication video facilities would also be provided to the hospital for the purpose of learning of postgraduate students and consultants.
This was decided in a meeting regarding issues pertaining to the DHQ hospital held at Lahore General Hospital under the chairmanship of Commissioner, Lahore Division, Abdullah Khan Sumbal, according to a press release issued on Sunday. The meeting was attended by Principal PGMI Prof Khalid Mahmood, DCO and EDO Health Kasur, MS DHQ Hospital, Qasur, MS LGH and other seniors.
The commissioner told the participants that Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif visited DHQ Hospital, Kasur recently and showed his deep concern over the pathetic condition of the hospital. While suggesting the solution of the issues, Prof Khalid Mahmood said schedule of visits of specialist of LGH to the hospital must be displayed in all RHC/BHUs of Kasur. He said doctors, who had been primarily posted in RHC/BHUs after selection through PPSC but were deputed to LGH for completion of postgraduate training, should be posted in DHQ Hospital, Kasur. List of such doctors who have completed Postgraduate training would be sent to Secretary Health, he said. The meeting declared that since adequate number of consultants were posted in DHQ Hospital, Kasur therefore the hospital administration should ensure 24 hours gynecology coverage. The PGMI principal proposed that accommodation for housing of postgraduate trainees should be provided in DHQ Hospital, Kasur upon which DCO Kasur agreed to provide accommodation very soon.
