Punjab PPP president Manzoor Wattoo has said the PPP won 14 seats of union councils on the party symbol, arrow, from the Okara district, adding his cousin Mian Ahmed Naseem also won the seat.
He added that the PPP was quite optimistic to bag the seats of chairman and vice-chairman of these union councils. He pointed out a large number of independents had won the elections in the local bodices' elections and the PPP as per its policy supported independent candidates keeping in view the local dynamics of politics.
He added that with the approval of the top leadership Punjab PPP had allowed the local chapters of the PPP to go for seat adjustment if the office bearers considered such arrangement in the interests of the local politics and the party.
