JHANG: More than 41 processions of Tazia, Zuljinah and Alam will be taken out in the district on Ashura today. Talking to newsmen here, DPO Humayun Masood Sindhu said that the main procession would be taken out from Imambargah Gohar Shah amid tight security. He said that hundreds of constable, head constable, ASIs, SIs, inspectors, DSPs and SPs had been deployed throughout the city. He said: “Punjab Constabulary personnel have also been requisitioned to provide security along with emergency security support of four companies of Pak Army.” He said that no vehicle would be allowed to park anywhere on the processions routes.
Meanwhile, main Ashura procession organiser Syed Faisal Ali Shah expressed satisfaction over the security arrangements made by police. He said that hundreds of volunteers, who got training from local police about security measures, would march along with the procession.
Moreover, Excise and Taxation Provincial Secretary Ali Tahir visited Rescue 1122 Headquarters where District Emergency Officer Dr Tariq Saeed briefed him about the Muharram arrangements.
