Shopkeeper booked for threatening TMA inspector

HAFIZABAD: City police have registered a case against a shopkeeper on a charge of threatening the TMA Anti-Encroachment inspector.
Inspector Khizar Hayat asked shopkeeper Muhammad Saleem to remove encroachment but he allegedly threatened him of dire consequences.
COP ROBBED: Two dacoits looted a police constable near Channi Hunjranwan. Constable Abdul Razzaq of Bariwala village was on way home when the dacoits intercepted and snatched a motorcycle and Rs 2,500 from him. Meanwhile, three dacoits broke into the house of Hayat Muhammad, a candidate for general councillor slot, and made off with Rs 16,000 and gold ornaments.
OBITUARY: Daughter of former MC chairman Sheikh Amanullah and sister of Markazi Anjuman-e-Tajran president Sh Muhammad Amjad died after a brief illness here. She was buried in a graveyard.

HAFIZABAD: Twenty-seven processions will be taken out in the district today, said DPO Shakir Hussain. He said that more than 1,000 policemen would guard the processions.
