Eight injured in clash between two PML-N groups

BAHAWALPUR: Eight workers were injured in a clash between two PML-N groups during canvassing for LG elections at Satellite Town, Chishtian, on Friday.
Two PML-N groups were busy in election campaigns when they opened fire at each other. As a result, eight party workers, including Farooq and Arshad Bhatti, were injured. The injured people were shifted to the Chishtian THQ Hospital from where two of the seriously injured were shifted to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital.
PML-N MPA Ch Ahsanul Haq Bajwa, who is heading a group against the PML-N MNA Tahir Bashir Cheema group, reached the THQ Hospital and got Asghar Ali of the MNA Tahir Bashir Cheema group arrested on a charge of firing on his men. Later, the MNA reached the Chishtian police station and got Asghar released from the custody.
Till the filing of the report, tension is mounting as the workers belonging to the two groups were gathering outside the police station.
