FAISALABAD: A teenage girl committed suicide when her mother failed to provide her with food owing to poverty at Nawabanwala on Thursday.
15-year-old Kainat and her family were without food for the last two days. On the day of the incident, the ill-fated girl pressed her mother for meal which she could not arrange. She quarrelled with her mother on unavailability of food. Later, Kainat, in sheer depression, consumed poison to end her life. She was immediately shifted to hospital but died.
Sensitive agency official held for blackmail

FAISALABAD: An official of a sensitive agency was arrested at Nawabanwala.
On Thursday, a joint team of the FIA and the IB arrested Israr Munir, inspector of a sensitive agency and shifted him to some an unknown place for interrogation. It is alleged that Israr had extracted millions of rupees by blackmailing a businessman residing in Officers Colony, Madina Town.
