Four cueists to represent Pakistan at World Snooker

KARACHI: The quartet of Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Sajjad, Abdul Sattar and Shahram Changezi will represent Pakistan in the IBSF World Men’s Snooker Championship 2015 due to be held in Egypt next month.
Alamgir Anwar Shaikh, Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association (PBSA) president, announced this here on Thursday.
It has also been decided to hold a three-week training and practice camp for the four cueists.
The IBSF World Snooker Championships 2015 will be staged in the Egyptian city of Hurghada from November 10 to 21.
The camp will be organised here at the Movenpick Hotel Arcade from October 21 to November 8. The cueists will travel to Egypt on November 9.
Meanwhile, the PBSA released on Thursday the latest ranking chart, updated after the NBP Cup Championship.
Mohammad Asif, the 2012 world champion, has regained the top position in the national rankings as he won the NBP event.
He displaced Shahram Changezi, who moved down to fifth place due to his first-round exit from the tournament.
Mohammad Sajjad, who went down fighting against Asif in the final, climbed to the second position. He was third before the event.
Abdul Sattar progressed from 13th position to fourth after his fine performance in the recent tourney.
Mohammad Bilal, who was one of the surprise packets of the tournament having gone all the way to the semi-finals, also made a spectacular jump. He finds himself elevated to the sixth place in the list from the 20th position he occupied just a week ago.
Rambail Gul now occupies the seventh position, moving up four places from his last ranking.
Asif Toba retained his eighth position.
Sultan Mohammad, Abu Saim, Shahid Aftab, Imran Shahzad, Aakash Rafique, Babar Masih, Mohammad Faheem and Sharjeel Mahmood share the next eight positions in the rankings.
Majid Ali, Zulfiqar Abdul Qadir, Mohammad Imran, Shah Khan, Ian Mark John, Bahadur Khan, Aamir Tariq and Hunain Aamir, by virtue of sharing 17th to 24th positions, have qualified for the next national ranking event due to start here later this month.
Mohammad Ishtiaq, Sohail Shahzad, Asjad Iqbal, Nauman Iqbal, Abdul Rahim, Uzair Aziz, Ahsan Javaid, Taufiq Jauhari and Mohammad Faizan have been eliminated from the national ranking chart.
