KARACHI: Defending champions Army retained their title when they beat Navy 39-14 in the summit clash of 13th National Asian-style kabaddi championship at Hamidi Hall, Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad, on Wednesday.
Army men started the game in style and took lead in the first half. International players Sajjad Waseem, Nasir Ali, Aqeel Ahmed and Qasir Khan were in form and displayed excellent skills.
Army were leading the game 24-6 at the end of the first part of the match. Army maintained the pace in the second half and kept scoring.
Usman secures silver medal in Commonwealth weightlifting KARACHI: Pakistan’s Usman Amjad Rathore clinched silver medal in 94 kg event in Senior Commonwealth Weightlifting championship in Pune, India.
According to reports made available here, Usman lifted 142 kg in snatch and 175 kg in clean and jerk event to secure silver medal.
Earlier on Tuesday, Pakistan’s Muhammad Saqib had clinched gold medal in 77 kg category. Nooh Dastagir Butt will show his strength in +105 Kg category on Thursday (today).
