KARACHI: Pakistani judoka Iftikhar Ahmad fell in quarter-finals of Under 55 weight category as Pakistan finished 12th in Asian cadet judo championship in Bangkok.
Pakistan judo team consisted of Iftikhar Ahmad, Nadeem Akram and Wajahat Sarwar.
Ranked 131st in the international circuit, Iftikhar, lost on Wednesday against Uzbekistan’s Tojiev Arslonbek, ranked 48th. Iftikhar secured seventh position.
In Junior Under 73 Kg event, debutant Nadeem lost his match to experienced Japanese opponent, who went on to clinch top position.
Wajahat fell in the second round. Wajahat secured seventh position.
In Asian cadet event, Pakistan secured 12th position while in Junior Judo Championship, the team ended 14th.
