Militant killed, cop injured in Swabi clash

SWABI: A militant was killed and a cop sustained injuries in clash at Menai village here on Tuesday, official sources said.
The sources said that acting on a tip-off, the heavy contingent of police raided a house in Menai village in the jurisdiction of Topi Police Station.A militant was killed in the exchange of fire which continued for hours, the sources said, adding, his accomplice managed to escape from the scene.
An official of the Elite Force identified as Bahar Ali was injured in the clash and he was taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in Swabi.However, the reports on private televisions stated that the militant had blown himself up during the clash.
