BAHAWALPUR: Mian Muhammad Balighur Rehman, State Minister for Education and Interior Affairs, Monday said combating terrorism, bringing economic stability, resolving energy crisis and promoting education are four top priorities of the government to put the country on the track of uplift.
Addressing a ceremony to distribute cash prizes and commendable certificates among position holders of BA, BSc and BCom examinations of 2015, the minister said the government is making all-out efforts to restore peace in all parts of the country.
He said owing to sacrifices of our soldiers our citizens are living with the sense of security. The minister lauded steps taken by Islamia University of Bahawalpur VC Prof Dr Qaisar Mushtaq for the imposition of IUB development and academic excellence. The VC said during the past few month solid measures have been taken to setup high quality of education in all departments of IUB.
Dr Qaisar Mushtaq said that he believes in such research that may benefit common man and the success on the research of cotton is a sequence of same. All the buildings of IUB are being made comfortable for the special students. On the occasion the Minister distributed cash prizes and certificates among the position holders.
In BA examination Ayesha Mushtaq of Government Degree College Liaqatpur stood first, Amina Khadim of Govt Degree College Khanpur second and Haneen Muhammad of Govt Degree College Dubai Mahal Road Bahawalpur got third position, while in BSc Muhammad Jehangir of Iqra College Sadiqabad claimed first position, Umair Ali of Minchanabad second and Mehwish Tanveer of Punjab College Rahim Yar Khan was declared third. In BCom examination Afzal Khan Punjab College of Commerce Rahim Yar Khan stood first, Komal Nayab of Allama Iqbal College of Commerce Bahawalpur second and Farwa Seed Punjab College of Commerce Rahim Yar Khan obtained third position. Dignitaries, faculty members, administrative officers and students participated in the ceremony in a large number.
