PESHAWAR: The district administration imposed Section 144 to ensure foolproof security during Muharram. A press release issued here on Monday said that the administration banned wall-chalking, pillion riding, provocative speeches, assembly of five or more persons at public places, display of weapons, use of loudspeakers except for Azan, distribution of provocative materials. The administration also banned standing on rooftops in the surrounding of procession routes and imambargahs, aerial firing, sale of petroleum products in small containers and that of firecrackers. The ban would come into effect immediately for a period of 60 days and violators will be punished under Section 188 of the PPC.
