KARACHI: Besides defending champions Army, WAPDA, Navy and PAF have moved into the semi-finals of 13th National Asian Style Kabaddi Championship by winning their respective matches at Hamedi Hall, Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad on Monday.
In the first match, PAF outclassed Police by 62-16 in a 40-minute fixture. Faizan Ali, Mohammad Mustafa and Abid displayed excellent skills and earned vital points for the winning team.
Meanwhile, Navy ousted WAPDA by 47-18 score in the second competition of the day. Raja Akran and Wajid Ali were top point scorers for the Navy.
In the third match of the day, Army defeated PAF by 52-34 score. Waseem Sajjad and Nasir displayed quality game for the defending champions.
WAPDA had to work hard to overcome Railway in the fourth fixture. The final score was 49-36, as Atif Hussain and Mohammad Ali played pivotal role in WAPDA’s triumph.
Defending champions Army thrashed Police by 46-07 score in the penultimate contest of the day. Sajjad once again performed brilliantly and played main role in the team’s victory.
Navy crushed Pakistan Railway by 44-21 score in the last match of the day.The emi-finals will be played on Tuesday (today) at same venue.
