FAISALABAD: The additional sessions judge on Wednesday directed the SHO Civil Lines to register a case against Tariqabad Police Post in charge ASI Waqas Hundal and two other policemen for snatching Muhammad Siddique from court bailiff Asad Ali Cheema.
Siddique was in the police custody without registration of a case. The officials were also accused of expelling the bailiff from the premises of the police post.
Muhammad Altaf, a resident of Madina Abad, had filed a petition in the court that his brother Muhammad Siddique was in illegal confinement of Tariqabad Police Post. On his request, the court deputed Asad Ali Cheema to recover the detainee from the police.
CONVICTED: Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Raja Pervaiz Akhtar on Wednesday awarded 10-year collective imprisonment and Rs 400,000 to Idrees Imran alias Thakar in a ransom case.
The case was registered under Section 366 and 7-ATA. Idrees Imran, a resident of Chak 214/RB, gave life threats to Muhammad Khan of Dhudhiwala and received Rs 1.3 million ransom from him.
