KOHAT: The Police finalised a comprehensive security plan for Muharram in the district, official said on Tuesday. According to the security plan, the law against display of weapons, provocative speeches, wall-chalking and publication and distribution of such literature which promotes religious hatred would be strictly implemented. A heavy contingent of police will be deployed for the protection of majalis and processions. The additional checkposts on the entry and exit points of the city will be established and the city will be sealed. Unrelated individuals will be not be allowed to go near procession. Similarly, checking of hotels, inns, and residential plazas will be ensured on a daily basis and legal action would be taken against owners of rented houses and those who were residing in rented houses without tenant registration with the local police station.
