Two shot dead, eight injured in Jhang incidents
JHANG: Two men were shot dead while eight others, including three women, sustained serious injuries in two incidents here on Sunday.
According to Athara Hazari police, Allah Ditta (27) was shot dead while Imran (26) was injured during a scuffle with friends at Jalalwala village.
In another incident, Nawaz (40) was killed while Riffat Bibi (35), Sarwar Bibi (50), Praveen Bibi (22), Qamar (8), Shoaib (10) and Hasnain (14) were seriously injured by the firing of their rivals at Khichianwala village in the jurisdiction of Mochiwala police station. The injured people were shifted to a hospital. The police have started investigation.
15 PRISONERS RELEASED: After relaxation by the government, 15 prisoners were released from the District Jail on Sunday.
According to District Jail Superintendent Farrukh Sultan, two prisoners were released from the jail as they completed their punishment after availing the government relaxation. He said that the jail administration with the help of philanthropists arranged a fine amount of 13 prisoners and they were also released on Eid day.
He said that in the light of the directions of the Punjab government, public call office facilities had also been provided to the prisoners to contact their families during Eid holidays. Superintendent Jail Farrukh Sultan further said that fiber shed had also been established to save the prisoners from scorching heat.
