Number of Covid-19 patients goes up in Takhbahi

TAKHTBHAI: An unprecedented increase of 21 patients of coronavirus was seen owing to the relaxation of lockdown during Eidul Fitr in Takhtbhai tehsil.

With the new cases, the number of confirmed Covid-19 patients reached 62 in the tehsil. Officials said that the most affected areas included Shergarh, Lundkhwar and Takhtbhai city.

They said that most of the patients were quarantined at their respective homes while the serious ones were shifted to the isolation ward of Mardan Medical Complex. Five of the new patients belonged to health department.

YOUTH DROWNS: A youth drowned in Jalala Khwar in Takhtbhai tehsil on Tuesday. Locals said that Jamal Khan, 22, along with his friends was swimming in Jalala Khwar (seasonal stream) at Pump Koroona point. They said the youth had a bet with his friends to dive in the deep water.

No sooner did he jump into the deep water, he drowned. A team of divers rushed to the spot after the locals informed of the Rescue 1122 of the tragic incident. The team started search for the drowned youth but could not be rescued till filing of this report.
